Once a user is signed up, we work closely with the artist to assemble their ISRCs and collect their works into our Catalog.
ExitOur overall repertoire containing all our members registered works is licensed directly to performance outlets. The catalog is licensed in full to provide maximum value and flexibility.
To pursue a licensing agreement with Spoken Giants, or for more information on the process, please contact Jim King directly.
This is the exciting part! All the time your works are spinning, you are making money without even knowing it.
Anytime our licensees perform or duplicate your work, an official record is kept, and payments are made back to you based on our royalty distribution processes. We compute the number of performances for each work in the catalog as well as any mechanical works rights executed (the duplication of your works across DSP streaming and other forms of use).
Once we have collected your royalties, we make sure everything is order, and then disburse them back to you, the rightsholder!
Disbursements occurr quarterly, with payments covering a retrospective period of time.
After the fact, we audit your performances to make sure you're getting every cent you should. We are working hard to distribute this data back to you, to keep you in tune with what's going on.

Spoken Giants is the first global rights collective for spoken word. We are team of forward-thinking comedy managers and record label people. We work closely with copyright experts that know more than we do, lawyers who surely make more than we do, and a former big wig of the world’s largest music rights organization – all in search of THE TRUTH.
Songwriters make $ for WRITING a song when that song gets played on digital platforms like SiriusXM, Spotify, Pandora, and Apple. THIS IS A PROBLEM.
Comedians DO NOT make $ for WRITING a joke when that joke gets played on digital platforms like SiriusXM, Spotify, Pandora, and Apple.
The money is generated the same way and there are organizations that collect this money for musicians/ songwriters. This DID NOT EXIST in comedy -- UNTIL NOW.
In music, this is a MULTI-BILLION DOLLAR business with a lot of money flowing back to the musicians/ songwriters. Remember when we said that nobody is doing this in comedy?
Unlike in music, NOBODY is administering spoken word rights for comedy. Money is being generated in comedy just like in music.
Good question. Since comedy was not played on traditional sources like regular radio there has never been the need for a rights organization for comedy like there is in music. Now that comedy is being played A LOT on the new digital platforms like SiriusXM, Spotify, Pandora, etc. there IS A NEED FOR THIS.
Yes! We created SPOKEN GIANTS, the world’s first multi rights organization for spoken word.
Yes! It already is. We already represent tens of thousands of works for an ever-growing, diverse membership including such comedians as Mike Birbiglia and Kyle Kinane. We also represent estates including Don Rickles and Ralphie May!
Another great question. The answer is NO. SoundExchange pays you on the performance on the Sound Copyright of your comedy. This is paying you for being a writer of jokes. Crazy world huh?
Nope, not at all. Your material is your material. We just need the right to represent your material in the marketplace to collect these unpaid royalties.
