After the year we’ve had, the phrase “new normal” doesn’t quite fit the bill—according to comedian Myq Kaplan, it’s more like the “new weird.” With boyish charm and droll deadpanning, Myq uses stand-up to explore all the intricacies of our wonderfully weird society and keeps audiences coming back for more. Myq’s two comedy albums, Vegan Mind Meld and A.K.A., have also seen their share of success. The former was one of iTunes’ top 10 comedy albums of the year and the latter debuted at number one with high praise from the NY Times. Included among its five “Coronavirus Best New Comedy Specials,” the Times called A.K.A. “invigoratingly funny.”
